We proudly offer three sizes of hand sewing needles by John James. Some are categorized as “embroidery” and some are labeled “chenille” — but both types are great for hand embroidery. Rule of thumb is that Chenille needles will have a larger eye.

EMBROIDERY SIZE 8 — Small eye— Set of 12. Size 8 needles have a long but very small eye. Tamara recommends using size 8 for hand sewing with thread or for hand embroidery with three strands or fewer.

CHENILLE SIZE 24 — Midsize eye — Set of 6. Size 24 is the size that Tamara reaches for the most. Great for hand embroidery with 4 strands.

CHENILLE SIZE 18 — Large eye — Set of 6. Ideal for beginner embroidery artists. Great for embroidery with all 6 strands. Very large eye for easy threading.
